LATELA is an Art & Design Curatorial Consultation Firm. Our art curators connect artists and collectors, place artwork in commercial buildings, organize installations/exhibitions, and manage interior design stagings. With a focus on supporting the local art economy, we are constantly on the search for new talent and clients. No matter the project size, if you're collecting for the first time on a limited budget or interested in dressing up your office headquarters to be on brand whist including local artists, we are your go-to experts.
LATELA's mission is to take a genuine approach to the traditional commercial art gallery model + nourish real community within a local art environment for the artists we source/commission and our clients. We understand that artwork promotes mood in the space in which it inhabits, therefore we not only are art curators but also energy cultivators. Moreover, we believe that our commitment to positive nourishment in our gallery extends to the quality of our relationships, client-work, art collection & custom commissions.
The Latela Art Gallery is a multi-purpose space, mainly the LATELA headquarters. The gallery occasionally hosts exhibitions and showroom hours.
Established as a fusion between an artist/curator studio and traditional art gallery, the Latela Art Gallery functions as an art & design boutique that sources quality art with a focus on positive energy in interiors. The gallery hosts regular meditation/energy-healing programs as part of our commitment to community nourishment. We believe the [temporary] home of our art collection + center for our creative client-work brainstormings should be continuously filled with positive energy from our community... which insures a unique gallery-visiting experience, and more importantly, nothing short of pure & positive delivery in the creative projects we realize for our clients.

The Latela Art Gallery opened November 2015. The Latela Curatorial Brand (now 'Commercial Art + Design Services') was founded a year earlier in 2014 by Independent Curator, Art Historian & Artist Marta Staudinger. Marta began promoting Latela by organizing exhibitions featuring local artists online with heavy social media + blogging as well as in local venues (co-working spaces, hotels, restaurants, offices, fashion boutiques and yoga studios).
The Latela Art Gallery inaugurated its opening with three consecutive open call exhibitions for the local art community. Five months after opening, Latela was voted Best Commercial Art Gallery in Washington DC. In its first year, the gallery displayed six exhibitions (featuring a total of seventy-three artists). In its second year, the Latela was voted Best Commercial Art Gallery in Washington DC a second time.
Now fully focused on Residential and Commercial Curatorial & Consulting Services, the gallery occasionally hosts exhibitions providing further opportunities to local emerging artists not under gallery representation.
